Mission
The Stones River Crafts Association was established to develop, encourage, and preserve the fine crafts of the Stones River region through education and promotion, so as to create new audiences, develop intracommunity relations, support artists, and provide our community the opportunity for creative and cultural experiences.
Statement of Purpose
The Stones River Crafts Association believes that crafts constitute a unique and influential force in the world of art and design. The inclusion of quality crafts in our daily environment enlightens and enriches the culture of our comunity.
Therefore, the SRCA is represented by professional artisans who believe in the integrity of their craft, the excellence of their design, and the pursuit of the highest standards of craftsmanship.
Objectives
- Promote and build upon the Craft Artists Studio Tour and the Stones River Arts Fair.
- Present an annual juried Crafts Fair in a festival setting to showcase locally produced, professional crafts designed for the discriminating collector.
- Enliven our community's visual complexion through the use of fine crafts on the interiors, exteriors, and green spaces of our public and business facilities.
- Elevate and maintain standards of design and craftsmanship, while encouraging individual expression among our area's large and diverse crafts community.
Services
- Publications, articles, and activities which promote local craft professionals and the community's awareness of quality crafts.
- A resource for youth to produce and display crafts through internships, crafts fairs, and other avenues of educational benefit.
- A network of craft professionals available for commissions, consultations, forums, workshops, and presentations.
