 1/28/2005To Craft Artists and Members of the Stones River Crafts Assoc.After much discussion the board members of the SRCA and the organizers of the Stones River Craft Fair have decided that we will not be having the Craft Fair this summer. Past fair participants have wished that their potential customers were a little more educated about fine crafts and this is an issue we want to address. Instead of putting all our time toward the fair we will be organizing our energies and resources into a yearlong campaign designed to make people of this community and Rutherford County more aware of SRCA and its members. We hope to encourage the appreciation of art and the value of making fine crafts a part of their lives. While planning is still in the early stages we are excited about the possibilities and welcome your input as to opportunities to make crafts more prominent in the minds of our citizens. While the craft fair is cancelled this year, it isn’t dead. We’ll be asking your help as part of our campaign to find opportunities to display our work in a variety of venues while we work on plans for an event in 2006.
